Recently I was told to read a book that has changed the way I think about what we are eating, and doing to our stomachs.  What is great about this book is that it explains how we have been misled into believing that many whole foods are "healthy," when they are actually leading us down a road of dependence on pharmaceutical drugs that make things worse.

The book is, The Plant Paradox, by Steven Gundry, M.D.

This book is not just another diet book, it's about choosing foods based on entirely different criteria than what most have believed in the past.  Foods that can heal our digestive problems, raise our quality of life, increase our energy levels, and help lengthen our lives!

You are what you surround yourself with.

Always be mindful that you are a product of your environment.

So choose an environment that will help you become the best YOU.

Analyze your life in terms of your environment.

Ask yourself if the things around you are helping you toward your success, or holding you back?

The first step toward getting somewhere is to decide that you're not going to stay in the place that you are.  You are not a prisoner of your environment.

If you don't like where you are, you can make choices to change things. You're not planted permanently in the ground like a tree.

Don't say, "You would, if you could," instead say, "You will, because you can."

Look for GREATNESS to surround yourself with....

As the Spartan World Championships have kicked off at Squaw Valley, and having time to meet with some of the World Class Athletes and their families it seems that most would agree that "Movement is Medicine".

"Motion is the lotion" that lubricates our joints and can prevent pain before it even starts.  During my studies in sports medicine we found that for creaky joints and stiff muscles, movement is what helps introduce new oxygen to those areas and promotes healing.

Numerous research studies have concluded that Movement, everything from fidgeting to low impact walking or interval training, can prevent some diseases, easy the pain from others and even reverse chronic conditions.

The discussion at the table today was about how people put their trust in themselves, compared to those people who put their trust in the Lord.

Read Psalm 25

To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul;
2
in you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.
3
No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.
4
Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;
5
guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
6
Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.
7
Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good,...

THERE IS ALWAYS A GOOD SIDE

Being an optimist and seeing the opportunity in every misfortune takes practice, as each challenge brings it's own opportunities.

The optimist sees the doughnut, the pessimist sees the hole.

You have the opportunity to develop success from every failure.

Discouragement and failure are two of the stepping stones toward success.

An optimist is willing to study them and make them work for them.

View every problem as an opportunity.
